Some spells of note include Mage Armor, for those character purists who still don’t want to die Identify, using your vast library of knowledge to understand the magic affecting an item or creature Magic Missiles for the prerequisite caster balls and Protection from Evil and Good for your first taste at warfare against demons.
FATE MURASAKI FULL
Check the character sheet for a full list. We will go over some of the spells here, but there are far too many to talk about if we want to keep this readable. Add one to your wizard level, and you are set. Because we are multiclassing spell casters, check your player’s handbook for the number of slots you have at any given level. Unlike artificers, wizards collect spells each level and by finding existing copies of spells, so they don’t have access to their entire spell list each long rest.

Aside from the bag of holding, very little is directly helpful to Murasaki Shikibu, so we’ll take the standard suite of Enhanced Defense, Enhanced Arcane Focus, and Enhanced Weapon. You can learn four infusions now, and have up to two active at any given time, switching them out on long rests.
FATE MURASAKI PATCH
For cantrips, pick up Dancing Lights to make reading easier with your human eyes, and Mending to patch up old copies. For more substantial effects we turn to your Spells, which you cast and prepare using your Intelligence. Right now you get proficiency in Constitution and Intelligence saves, as well as Sleight of Hand for more flourishes in your calligraphy and Perception to notice when books are missing.Īt first level you also know Magical Tinkering, letting you add magical effects to nonmagical items. Artificer 1: Starting off as an artificer gets you a little more HP, and it also helps you build your books more efficiently later. It does not take that much effort to lift a quill. Your Constitution is rather low, that low HP rearing its head again. You get caught up in yourself from time to time, it happens. This means your Wisdom is rather middling. While you may not be a bard, you can still perform very well. You have the lowest HP out of all casters, so avoiding damage is more preferable to getting hit. We need it to craft your spells, and your poetry is impeccably designed. Intelligence should be your first priority. She is a part of history, and we need that arcana proficiency for your scroll production. Miss Shikibu is also a Cloistered Scholar, for proficiency with History and Arcana. Makes it a lot easier to remember the dewey decimal system, I’ll tell you that much! You always know north to help figure out your way through the library, you know the time until sunrise or sunset, and you can recall anything you heard and saw in the last month. This gives you +1 Intelligence and gives you a bunch of mental bonuses. This also gives you proficiency with Religion, (you know enough about demons to kick them out via poetry, so… I guess?) And the Keen Mind feat. That’s a +1 to Intelligence and Charisma. Next up: The bigger the figure, the better I like her/ the better I like her, the better I feed her/ the better I feed her, the bigger the figure/ The bigger the figure the more I can love! That’s right, we’re using a subclass so old that it doesn’t even work with the class any more.Ĭheck out her build breakdown here, or her character sheet over here! Murasaki is an Order of Scribes Wizard to make a cool book, as well as an Archivist Artificer to make a cool book cooler. Do you want the power of a god? And by that I mean books? Because god damn does this build like books. Today on Fate and Phantasms we’re building Murasaki Shikibu.
